The joys of picking flowers for your big day

By Shannon Hawkes Artisan Florals

The challenge is so real when you are deciding on flowers for your big day. Weddings are stressful enough without having to worry about which flowers are in season for your bouquet. It’s even more stressful when that ONE flower that you have your heart set on isn’t available. All that Pinterest research for nothing!

Month by month the blooms that are in season changes, and so what is available for you is unfortunately limited. It is a good idea then to read up a bit on what will be in season when you are thinking about your flowers. Florists, such as us, are more than happy to help with this research and guide you on the right track. You will get firsthand, accurate knowledge about what is at your disposal.

Not only can we source locally, but sometimes we can import flowers. This is because global supply chains for blooms are opening up. Of course, this does come with additional costs, so sourcing locally is not only good for your hip pocket, but for your community.  Even with this global opportunity there are still restrictions on what we can source because apparently, we can’t change Mother Nature.

We can totally understand how the first time you stand in front of us, you might be totally at a loss of what to do. It can be rather overwhelming – but take heart! No matter the season, no matter the weather, we can source beautiful blooms that you will fall in love with. Let us take you on a journey of finding your new favourite flower. And more than that, we will take that flower and make the most stunning and unique arrangement you have ever seen! Special just like your Special Day!

Below you can access our “Floral Guide to the Seasons”. There may be slight variation to this guide year to year, so still let us know what your dream bouquet is and we will do our absolute best to make it for you. Any items we cannot supply we will investigate import viability.

Browse through the guide below for further details and to view the spectacular blooms available for your perfect CQ wedding.
